In an adorable Instagram video on Thursday (Sept. 28) Macklemore announced that he and his wife Tricia Davis have another baby on the way.
“Tricia is pregnant, and today we are going to find out the gender of our child,” Macklemore said in the video. Joining him and Davis was their two year-old daughter Sloane Ava Simone, along with family and friends.
Rather than actually reveal the gender of the baby, Macklemore took the opportunity to have music news baked into the cake. “We’re having… a second night at KeyArena,” he announced just after cutting into the cake, extending his nearly sold-out tour through Dec. 23 for an additional concert in his hometown of Seattle.
Sloane was welcomed into the world just two months prior to Macklemore and Davis’s summer 2015 wedding. At the time, the rapper wrote on his band’s site, “There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into the universe.” He released “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song)” for his child, at the time explaining, “She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.”
Macklemore released his new solo album Gemini earlier this month. Seattle fans can purchase tickets to the newly announced show here, on sale tomorrow.
